Personal Favourities

1) Captain Phillips

Captain Phillips is a personal favourite thriller film of mine because I like films that are based on true events in the world. Captain Phillips is a film about the 2009 somali pirate invasion on the U.S containership the Maersk Alabama. The captain of the ship Richard Phillips (Tom Hanks), looks to protect his ship and his crew from the hostile invaders, and their leader, Muse (Barkhad Adbi). What makes this a good thriller for me are the fast cuts from cameras, the music that creates tension through out the film and the fact that the protagonist is at the mercy of the antagonist.

2) Iron Man

The Iron Man film is the first of the trilogy, but as it is the first it is obviously the best one. Iron Man is a film about a billionaire industrialist and genius inventor, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), who is conducting weapons tests overseas, but terrorists kidnap him to force him to build a devastating weapon. What makes Iron Man a good thriller for me is the fast pass of the film in action scenes.
